ARCHERY, martial arts and circus skills were just some of the activities embraced by secondary school students.

Pupils from Bishop Perowne CE College left their classrooms behind to take part in events for Arts Weeks which included puppetry, stage combat and aerial dance.

The pupils also visited At-Bristol Science Centre, Vertical Limit in Worcester and RAF Cosford.

Others ventured further afield, with Design and Technology students going to London museums and the Art department visiting Western Super Mare in honour of their project theme ‘The Great British Seaside.’

Those studying the Holocaust visited Krakow, Poland to learn more about the impact of the tragic events that took place there.

Headteacher Mark Pollard, said: “Our Endeavour Forever motto is there to encourage all students to strive for more and it’s important that they learn to take this out of the classroom and into other activities.

“Arts Week is a great way of helping them do this.

“It’s one of the most popular and greatly anticipated events of the school year as it gives our students the chance to take on an activity that they would not otherwise have had the chance to do and succeed at it.

“The visits offsite are equally as important as they tie in with what students have been learning in the classroom allowing them to put into practice skills learnt, or to see places in real life,” he added.
