Weather warnings in place for county

Worcester Editorial 9th Jan, 2015 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

EXTRA Highways teams will be on standby ahead of warnings of strong winds.

More crews including tree removal contractors have been drafted in to potentially work over the weekend after forecasts predicted the potential for strong winds and rain, although there is currently no official weather warning in place.

Coun John Smith, responsible for highways at Worcestershire County Council, said: “The latest weather forecast doesn’t look too good and, although at the moment, it looks like this part of the country should miss the worst of the storms strong winds and rain could still potentially cause some problems.

“Although maybe not as severe as in other areas of the UK conditions could still pose challenges for those out and about so please take care when making journeys.”
