Kind youngsters cook up a festive treat

GENEROUS youngsters have cooked up a Christmas treat as a gift for residents at a care home.

Teens from the Tribe youth group have enjoyed having cooking lessons in recent weeks and used their new skills to bake a fruit cake which they delivered to the elderly people at Howbury House in Pickersleigh Grove, Malvern.

Saira Beebeejaun, who runs Tribe, said: “I think some of the group have lost grandparents so they really felt like doing something nice for elderly people.

“It was all their own idea. I hope the residents like it.”

Deborah Hirschfield, senior assistant at Howbury House, added: “It’s very positive to see young people coming down at this time of year putting themselves out. The residents love to see them because they brighten things up so it is very much appreciated.”

Tribe meet every Wednesday between 5.15pm and 6.45pm at Malvern Evangelical Church on Pickersleigh Road.
