“HEARTBREAKING”, “amazing” and “unexpected” were some of the words used by budding book critics at a city school.

Karen King, who is patron of reading for Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College, organised a competition for pupils to write a book review.

Year Seven students Hannah Clubley and Chyna-Benae Edwards received a signed copy of Nightmare for their reviews of Doughnuts, Dreams and Drama Queens and A Waste of Good Paper respectively.

Hannah said it took her less than a day to read Leila Rasheed’s book as she said a number of unexpected things happen.

“This book was amazing,” she said. “I would recommend this book to anyone and I hope I can find more books just like it.”

Chyna-Benae also said she struggled to put down her book which was written by Sean Taylor, and urged people to pick up a copy at their local library.

“A heartbreaking story so good, some will cry,” she added. “You will not take your eyes off this book. It will take you into a whole new world.?”
