Woman's handbag snatched at Warndon bus stop

Worcester Editorial 5th Nov, 2014 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

A WOMAN had her handbag snatched while she was waiting for a bus in Warndon.

The victim was standing at the stop outside St Wulstan’s Church on Cranham Drive about 10.45am on Sunday (November 2) while speaking on her phone when she was approached by a man on a bicycle from the Spa end of the road.

He then grabbed her handbag.

The 26-year-old woman tried to pull it back and shouted at the man, but had to let go because her wrist was hurting.

The robber cycled off away from the church down Cranham Drive with her handbag and its contents.

The victim’s handbag was a grey Paul’s Boutique bag with pink writing. She did not require hospital treatment for her injuries.

The offender is described as white, about 25 to 30-years-old, of slim build wearing a hooded top and riding a bicycle.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is urged to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.

Information can also be given, anonymously, to Crimestoppers through their website at www.crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling 0800 555 111.
