A MIDDLE-aged man needed jaw surgery following a late-night altercation in a city centre takeaway.

Police were called to Chicks, Chicken and Pizza on The Cross about 3.25am on Sunday, August 31, following reports of a group of men fighting.

A 41-year-old man from Worcester suffered an injury to his jaw that was so serious it required surgery and a 27-year-old man, also from the city, was arrested on suspicion of assault in connection to the incident.

He was bailed to return to Worcester Police Station on Tuesday, September 23, pending further enquiries.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call PC Dave Wood on West Mercia Police’s non-emergency number 101.

Information can also be given to Crimestoppers, anonymously, by logging onto www.crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling 0800 555 111.
