Trio found guilty of falsely imprisoning Worcester man

THREE men from Birmingham have been found guilty of falsely imprisoning a 37-year-old Worcester man.

The trio appeared at Worcester Crown Court yesterday (Thursday) following an investigation by West Mercia Police.

Kulbir Singh Bains, 40, was found guilty of conspiracy to kidnap, false imprisonment and causing grievous bodily harm with intent, Tehery Mahmood, 37, was found guilty of false imprisonment and causing grievous bodily harm and Steven Taylor, also 37, was found guilty of false imprisonment.

At earlier hearings four other men entered guilty pleas to charges relating to the incident which took place on on August 1 last year in Worcester.




Robert Collins, 58, of Bewdley and Robert Watters, 47, from Birmingham pleaded guilty to conspiracy to kidnap, Tariq Mahmood, 41, of Birmingham pleaded guilty to conspiracy to kidnap, false imprisonment and causing grievous bodily harm with intent and Paul Murray, 43, also of Birmingham pleaded guilty to conspiracy to kidnap, false imprisonment and causing grievous bodily harm.

All seven men will be sentenced when they appear at Worcester Crown Court on Monday, September 1.


A West Mercia spokesman said: “Today’s outcome follows a thorough and lengthy investigation by West Mercia Police.

“We are pleased that the offenders have been brought to justice and we now await the sentencing decision.”
