A DRUNKEN man who spat and swore at people in a city park has been slapped with a two year Criminal Anti Social Behaviour Order (CRASBO).
Carl Bainbridge was issued with the order at Worcester Magistrates Court yesterday (Wednesday) following an incident in St Andrew’s Gardens on Tuesday, June 24 when police found him to be drunk and disorderly and abusive to members of the public.
The CRASBO bans the 29-year-old, of no fixed addresss, from consuming alcohol or being in possession of an open vessel containing alcohol in any designated place where consumption is prohibited by law.
He is also not allowed to use threatening, abusive, offensive, intimidating or disorderly words or behaviour within the sight or hearing of anyone not of the same household as himself and from spitting or urinating in a public place.
Bainbridge moved to the city at the start of this year and since then police have acted upon a number of reports of him being drunk and disorderly.
Sergeant Carl Jones of the Cathedral Safer Neighbourhood Team, which covers the city centre, said: “I arrested Bainbridge myself for this offence of being drunk and disorderly. He was creating a disturbance in the Quay area at a time when people were down there enjoying the sunshine and lovely ambience of the location.
“Bainbridge was extremely drunk and constantly spitting. His language was dreadful and clearly causing offence to people at the location. We are not prepared to tolerate that. This CRASBO will empower us to prevent such behaviour.
“I would urge anyone enjoying our lovely, historic city centre to report such behaviour via the 101 number. I hope this case shows our determination to tackle offending of this nature.”
