AN ‘ERRATIC’ driver has been banned from getting behind the wheel for 20 months after pleading guilty to drink driving.
Karen Baker, of Lyttleton Street, was also ordered to pay £415 in fines, court costs and victim surcharges after breathing 84 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The 34-year-old was stopped by police in the early hours of the morning on June 8 when she was driving her husband’s Peugeot 206 on Barbourne Lane erratically, Worcester Magistrates Court heard last Friday (June 27).
Defending solicitor David Olivere said: “She went to a pub on Ombersley Road and the intention had been to walk back, but she made the decision about 1 o’clock to drive.
“She believed she was fit to drive, sadly this wasn’t the case.”
She was fined £300, ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.
District Judge Nigel Cadbury added: “It’s always a serious matter to drive a motor vehicle with excess alcohol and the aggravating feature here is you were more than twice the legal limit.”
