CHILDREN are being urged to showcase their artistic talents when a creative group in Worcester opens its doors to the public this weekend.

Worcester Arts Workshop will be holding an open day on Saturday (July 5) which organisers hope will give people the chance to see what goes on at the Sansome Street-based group.

Students from All Sorts of Performing Arts will carry out a cheer-leading routine and a musical theatre showcase before youngsters will be offered the chance to join in a short workshop.

Other children’s activities at the event, which takes place between 12pm and 5pm, will include making ceramic tiles, throwing a small pot and face painting.

There will also be demonstrations by the tutors of oil and watercolour painting, portraiture and printmaking.

Entrance is free for the event, which will also feature a barbecue and live music from 2pm, while Café Bliss will be open all day.
