Go batty live on camera

Worcester Editorial 5th Jun, 2014 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

WILDLIFE-enthusiasts in Worcester are being encouraged to hang around a city café to get an insight into a group of bats.

The brown long-eared bats can be viewed live from the Orchard Café in the Worcester Woods Country Park after a camera was installed in its roof where they have been living.

The colony, which consists of dozens of bats, have just returned to their roost and Tanya Feasey, assistant countryside sites officer, said she hoped the live feed would help change people’s opinions of the mammals.

“Bats are often misunderstood creatures, but we are proud of our bat roost which has been coming back to this site for at least ten years and it’s great for everyone to see them close up live on camera,” she added.
