THE JOYS of caring for others were unmasked at a city school as it hosted a special play to encourage young people to consider careers in adult social care.

Pupils from the King’s School Worcester, Worcester Sixth Form College and Pershore High School all visited Bishop Perowne CE College for a performance of Finding Joy by Vamos Theatre Company.

The play, which took place last Wednesday (February 5), explored the relationship between pensioner Joy and her grandson Danny when he decides to become her carer.

John Plant, assistant head teacher, said: “Vamos Theatre Company has been a long standing partner of the college and our students have been involved in many dynamic and memorable learning experiences as a result.

“This performance is accompanied by a presentation from Association of Care Training, which will give students an opportunity to reflect on the emotive themes of the play and on the possibilities of a career in the health and social care sector.”
