Harrison signs City contract

EXCITING prospect Jordan Harrison has put pen to paper on a contract at Worcester City.

The 21-year-old has impressed since joining the Blue and Whites in the summer from West Midlands Premier Division outfit Cradley Town, netting four times in ten appearances in all competitions.

And his positive performances have secured him a contract which will expire in May next year.

The former West Bromwich Albion and Kidderminster Harriers forward now wants to push on and fire City to the Midland League Premier Division title at the second time of asking after John Snape’s side finished fourth last year.

“It’s great to have your hard work and productivity rewarded but I’m just happy to be in a good changing room with a mentor in Ash Vincent and the gaffer (John Snape) who were both ultimate professionals in their extensive careers,” he said.

“Personal ambitions for me are to help get us in and around the promotion battle – we’ve got all the tools.

“Career-wise I just want to leave no doubt that I maximised my potential.

“Where that will take me, who knows? All I can do is keep my head down and work hard.”

City were due to entertain to Quorn tonight (Wednesday) as they went in search of a seventh straight league win after edging out struggling Wolverhampton Sporting Community 3-2 on Saturday.

Harrison had opened the scoring for the visitors in the 35th minute before the hosts hit back through Dan Scragg at the start of the second half.

Two goals from Liam Lockett and James Baldwin in the space of four minutes put City in control going into the final 15 minutes before Nehemia Zazi bagged a consolation in stoppage time.

After the Quorn clash City play host to Lye Town on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Blue and Whites have been drawn at home to Long Eaton United in the FA Vase first round.

The tie will take place on either Saturday, October 13 or Sunday, October 14 depending on landlords Bromsgrove Sporting’s progress in the FA Trophy.

The winners will receive £825 while the losers pick up £275.
