Residents urged to take advantage of the Worcestershire Energy Switch service

Worcester Editorial 6th Oct, 2018   0

THE WORCESTERSHIRE Energy Switch service aimed at helping residents get the best deal on their gas and electricity bills is live until midnight on Monday.

The organisation works with group buying expert iChoosr to negotiate competitive prices with energy companies.

Some 150 residents signed up last year, with more expected to sign up for this year’s switch.

Last year’s participants made average savings of around £182 per year on their energy bills.

Marc Williams, Transport Strategy Officer, said: “Last year I did the switch and checked prices online myself and the quote from Worcestershire Energy Switch was by far the cheapest.

“The switch itself is completely painless as they do all the work for you, so it’s a nice and easy way to save a bit of money.”

The amount of money which can be saved will vary depending on individual factors such as the current tariff, payment method, consumption and the winning bid.

There is no guarantee an offer will be the cheapest but the model aims to ensure the majority of participants are offered lower annual energy bills than they are on currently on.
