THIEVES stole catalytic converters while they were parked at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
The thefts happened between 10am and midday yesterday (Thursday).
West Mercia Police say in recent months there have been a number of reported catalytic converter thefts from vehicles in across the force area.
Det Insp Jack Taylor said: “Our investigating team are working closely with our partners at the hospital as there were catalytic thefts from the car park earlier in the year.
“I would like to hear from anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in car parks yesterday.”
He added he wanted to reassure the community officers were working hard to prevent such crimes and will be stepping up patrols in the area surrounding the hospital.
The police have also issued a number of tips to help people stop falling victim to catalytic converter thefts –
- Keep your vehicle in a garage if you can
- If you park it on a driveway, install motion activated lighting
- Otherwise, park in a well-lit, populated area
- Forensic security marking kits are available to mark your catalytic converter
- Locks are also available that can be fitted to your converter
- Use high visibility signage to deter thieves
