New name revealed for trust responsible for mental health care

THE trust responsible for running community services and mental health care in the county has a new name – Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust.

Formerly known as Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, the new name is said to better reflect the area in which it covers.

In April the trust – which launched in Worcestershire in 2011 – took over responsibility for mental health and learning disability services in Herefordshire too.

“We are really proud to be working with all our staff across both counties to provide the very best care we can for those who need us,” said trust chief executive Sarah Dugan.

“For us this is much more than a new name. It is a key step in integrating our mental health and learning disability services in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

“It was also very important for our patients, staff and stakeholders in Herefordshire to have name which both reflected the services they provide, and which developed a shared identity across the trust.”

All contact details will remain the same and patients will continue to access their services in the same way.

Services range from helping people experiencing acute mental health conditions, to more common issues such as stress and anxiety.
