WORCESTER Warriors ended their four-game losing run with a dominant 41-14 bonus point victory against Ampthill.
Warriors ran in seven tries at Dillingham Park as Will Lane, James Short, Thabo Ndimande, James Tyas, Josh Bassett, Hallam Chapman and Jake Garside all dotted down.
The result means Worcester sit third in the Champ Rugby table just two points behind Bedford Blues in second.
Matt Everard’s side made a blistering start as Tim Anstee strode down the left wing following a lineout and passed to Lane who scored the game’s first try after just seven minutes.
And Worcester struck again three minutes later when Short claimed Will Trewin’s dink over the top out wide and dotted down.
Warriors scored a third try on the quarter-hour mark as Ndimande finished from the back of a driving maul after Ampthill conceded successive penalties.
And the visitors went into the break with a 22-point lead when Tyas profited from a driving maul on 36 minutes after Worcester bundled Oscar Wilson into touch inside the Ampthill 22.
Warriors crossed for their fifth try on 47 minutes as Bassett received the ball out wide and dotted down after several phases under the sticks.
Ampthill eventually troubled the scoreboard on 54 minutes when Ollie Mullarkey ran a strong line to finish under the posts.
Worcester responded on 71 minutes as Chapman dove over from close range to score the away side’s sixth try.
And Garside touched down three minutes later when he received Juan Gonzalez’s offload after the latter skilfully weaved through the Ampthill defence.
Ampthill scored the game’s final try with the clock in the red as Totoa Auvaa’s try brought an end to the contest.
Warriors only managed to convert three of their seven tries with Will Reed kicking two and Tiff Eden the other.
Worcester are next in action against Doncaster Knights on Saturday, Feburary 7 with kick-off at 2.30pm at Sixways Stadium.
