WORCESTERSHIRE Rapids will host four Friday night matches and two double-headers as part of a revamped T20 Blast schedule in 2026.
The Rapids’ men’s side failed to make the quarter-finals of the competition for the second year running last season.
And the women’s side competed in the first-ever edition of the women’s T20 Blast last term.
Both Rapids teams begin the 2026 season with a trip to Leicestershire Foxes on May 22 in a double header.
And the two teams then welcome Northamptonshire Steelbacks to New Road on May 24 for another double header as the club’s play their first home games of the season respectively.
The men then host Warwickshire Bears in the first derby clash of the season at New Road on May 29 with the game live on Sky Sports.
And the return meeting between the two rivals takes place on June 26 at Edgbaston.
The men’s competition consists of 12 group matches, comprised of three groups of six teams.
After hosting the Bears, the Rapids entertain Glamorgan (June 5) before facing three consecutive away fixtures against Gloucestershire (June 7), Northamptonshire (June 9) and Warwickshire.
The Rapids return to New Road to face Somerset (June 28) and then host Kent Spitfires (July 3) in a first-ever T20 meeting between the two teams.
A trip to Glamorgan follows (July 5) before the Rapids host Gloucestershire (July 10) in their final home game of the group stage.
Worcestershire finish the group with a trip to reigning champions Somerset at Taunton (July 12).
Finals Day will once again take place at Edgbaston on July 18.
Rapids women continue their season at home to Derbyshire Falcons (May 31) and then travel to Kent (June 5) and Gloucestershire (June 7).
Home matches against Middlesex (June 14) and Sussex Sharks (June 28) follow before the Rapids finish the group stage away at Glamorgan (July 5).
The T20 Blast women’s Finals Day takes place at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on July 12.
Men’s head coach, Alan Richardson said: “The T20 Blast matches always take on a slightly different feel within the squad and amongst all of our supporters, the atmosphere is electric wherever we go and whoever we play, so to be hosting four Friday night games in front of our fans is a very exciting prospect.
“We had a promising end to the group stage last year in a very competitive group, so we are looking forward to renewing some of those rivalries as well as forging a few new ones during 2026.”
Women’s head coach, Ed Wilson added: “Our girls always look forward to the start of the T20 Blast and to be able to look forward to some more double headers is a very exciting prospect for us as a group.
“The Blast matches always prove to be very memorable days and the additions of fixtures against some teams we haven’t faced off against before will only help build excitement for the girls.”
