WORCESTER City claimed a stunning 6-0 win away at bottom-of-the-table AFC Sudbury as the visitors scored four second-half goals.
A brace from Nathan Hayward and further goals from Musa Ceesay, Felix Miles, Kyle Belmonte and Liam Lockett sealed a comprehensive win for Chris Cornes’ side at Brundon Lane.
The result means Worcester sit 13th in the Southern League Premier Central table, seven points clear of the relegation zone.
City broke the deadlock on 24 minutes when Hayward turned home Josh Bailey’s corner from the right from point-blank range.
And Worcester doubled their lead in first-half injury time as Ceesay lashed a dipping volley from 25-yards out into the left corner of the goal with Sudbury goalkeeper Marcus Garnham unmoved.
The visitors struck again on 63 minutes when Miles flicked home Zac Guinan’s low ball into the box from the right from close range.
And City all but sealed the points two minutes later as Hayward stooped to head in at the back post following a long throw from the right.
Worcester added a fifth goal on 89 minutes when Belmonte exchanged passes with Lockett and found the bottom right corner from 12-yards out.
The visitors completed the scoring five minutes into injury time as Lockett cut in from the right and curled a shot into the bottom right corner from Belmonte’s pass.
Worcester are next in action against Leiston on Saturday, November 8 with kick-off at 3pm at Sixways Stadium.
