WORCESTER Warriors have appointed Matt Rogerson as the club’s new captain for the 2025/26 season.

Rogerson joined Warriors in the summer following a two-season spell with Leicester Tigers.

And Warriors head coach Matt Everard has named the 32-year-old as his captain for the upcoming season.

Rogerson said: “It’s a huge honour for me, Evs asked me to go away and think about it but it was a pretty easy decision to be honest.

“There’s a real good buzz around here at the moment – the players, the group of staff we’ve assembled is really exciting and I think we can do good things.”

Everard added: “Matt leads by example on and off the pitch, both in the way he talks to the group but also how he conducts himself.

“Leadership isn’t just on one player and Matt has a fantastic leadership group around him with hugely experienced players for him to utilise.”

Rogerson previously captained London Irish in the Premiership and Champions Cup after taking on the role ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.

He made over 100 appearances for Irish after previous spells with Sale Sharks and Jersey Reds.

Rogerson joined Leicester in July 2023 after Irish filed for administration.

He featured for the Tigers from the bench in last season’s Premiership final defeat against Bath at Twickenham.
