SUCCESS was on the timetable for students across Worcester as they eagerly waited to find out their GCSE results.
Students across the city travelled back to their schools to see if they got the grades needed to go to sixth form, college or earn an apprenticeship.
King’s Worcester
King’s Worcester is delighted to recognise the exceptional achievements of its Year 11 pupils, who have, once again, secured an outstanding set of GCSE results.
Almost half of this year’s cohort achieved all grades 9-8, their strongest ever performance .
Over one third of this year’s cohort received 10 or more top grades of 9-7 and two thirds of grades were 9-7.
Incoming Head of Foundation, Ben Charles, celebrated the journey that the pupils have taken.
He said: “We are very proud of this group of capable and enthusiastic pupils, who have delivered some remarkable results this year, continuing King’s Worcester’s strong track record of academic excellence.”
“As well as working for their GCSEs, they have made significant contributions to the King’s community, embracing the countless opportunities offered to them and developing skills that will stay with them throughout their lives.
“Their accomplishments are a testament to their dedication, and we eagerly look forward to welcoming them, together with our new joiners, into the Sixth Form, where they will continue to flourish and gain the confidence to embrace what comes next.”
New College Worcester
This summer, staff, parents and carers have said they are all extremely proud of the achievements of NCW students.
At GCSE level, all students are continuing their chosen educational journey, progressing on to appropriate Level 2 and Level 3 courses.
Languages were a particular strength, with a 100 per cent pass rate at grades 4–9, alongside notable results in Food Preparation and Nutrition, Music, Science and Geography.
Students successfully completed all required practical work in Science, and, where appropriate, learned to read and use Science, Maths and Music Braille.
Rachel Perks, Principal of NCW, said: “We are so proud of our students and the results they have achieved this summer. Every single learner at NCW has overcome challenges associated with vision impairment and they have shown resilience, determination and ambition throughout their studies.
“These results are not only a reflection of academic achievement, but also of the courage and character of our young people.
“We are delighted to celebrate with them and excited to see where their journeys take them next.”
