Sushi making masterclass comes to Worcester

I HAVE always loved sushi. As a dedicated veggie that always shocks people, as they think the whole purpose of eating sushi is the raw fish.

But, for me, there is nothing better than cucumber maki.

So when I was invited by  YO! to come along and try their new menu, and have a go at making my favourite food, I jumped at the chance.

Bringing big energy and even bigger flavours, YO! Worcester launches a brand new menu, which is packed with dishes that fuse tradition with a creative twist.

I was treated to a new Bento Combo, inspired by the traditional Japanese Shokado Bento, combining sushi favourites and comforting hot dishes in one seriously satisfying meal.

I had the Midori (meaning green of nature), which included cucumber maki, kaiso seaweed, and spicy tempura vegetable roll, alongside a crispy katsu pumpkin bowl.

The new updated recipe delivered comforting and punchy flavours, served with steamed rice and finished with classic Japanese sauces.

It was truly delicious, and I even got a chance to have a go at making my own sushi, which made me feel far more immersed in the dining experience.

The sushi school lessons are available to everyone, and can be booked via their website.

Lauren Crozier, Group Marketing Director, YO! said: “This new concept marks an exciting evolution for the brand. From a refreshed flavour-packed menu to a whole new way to experience YO!

“Whether you’re a longtime fan or discovering us for the first time, we can’t wait to welcome the people of Worcester into our restaurant.”
