WORCESTERSHIRE Rapids bounced back from defeat against leaders Northamptonshire Steelbacks to see off Nottinghamshire Outlaws.
The Rapids fell to a 31-run defeat against the Steelbacks at New Road as Ben Sanderson delivered a mesmerising spell with the ball.
However, Worcestershire posted a big score in victory against the Outlaws as Adam Hose fell just short of a century at Trent Bridge.
The results mean the Rapids sit fourth in the T20 Blast North Group standings.
Against Northants, a half-century from Ricardo Vasconcelos (59) saw the visitors recover from the loss of opener Matthew Breetzke (1) in the first over.
And strong knocks from former England internationals David Willey (36) and Ravi Bopara (36) had the visitors well-placed heading into the closing stages of the innings.
Late power hitting from Saif Zaib (23 not out) and Lewis McManus (21 not out) propelled Northants to 190-5 at the end of their 20 overs.
The Rapids struggled to build a solid partnership throughout their reply as Brett D’Oliveira (7) and Kashif Ali (3) fell for single-figure scores.
All of Worcestershire’s batters failed to pass the 30-run mark as Gareth Roderick (29) top scored while Hose (27), Ben Dwarshuis (26), Ed Pollock (22) and Tom Hinley (21) all contributed.
And a stunning late spell from Sanderson (6-8) wrapped up the game as the bowler delivered a hat-trick to bring an end to the Rapids innings.
However, Worcestershire responded with victory against the Outlaws.
The Rapids made a disastrous start with the bat with D’Oliveira (0) run out and Pollock (1) caught to leave the visitors on 1-2 after seven balls.
However, Ali (51) and Hose (95) led a superb recovery and put on 73 runs for Worcestershire’s third wicket.
Hose blasted seven fours and six sixes from just 51 deliveries before Dillon Pennington (2-48) trapped him LBW in the final over.
And Ethan Brookes (32) and Dwarshuis (18 not out) helped the Rapids pass the 200-run mark as Worcestershire closed on 206-5.
In reply, Tom Taylor (2-36) removed Lyndon James (1) in the first over of the Outlaws innings.
And Worcestershire took wickets at regular intervals to prevent the hosts from building any momentum.
Jacob Duffy (2-42) claimed the crucial wicket of Tom Moores (39) while Liam Patterson-White (39 not out) scored quick runs in vain.
Nottinghamshire finished on 181-7 as the Rapids secured a second Blast win of the season.
Worcestershire are next in action against Lancashire on Friday, June 13 with the game to begin at 5.30pm at New Road.
