RUGBY UNION - Worcester Warriors sign experienced second row James Tyas

WORCESTER Warriors have signed experienced second row James Tyas from Championship side Coventry Rugby.

Tyas scored six tries in 77 appearances for Coventry who Warriors will play in the revamped Champ Rugby competition next season.

The 33-year-old previously played for Cornish Pirates, Plymouth Albion, Birmingham Moseley, Rotherham Titans and London Scottish and has made more than 150 appearances in the Championship.

Tyas said: “I’m thrilled to be starting this new chapter at Worcester Warriors.

“A club that holds so many great memories for me.

“Sixways is a special place with incredible fans and I’m really looking forward to being part of its rebuild and getting stuck in alongside an exciting squad.”




Warriors head coach, Matt Everard added: “James is an experienced operator.

“He’s played a lot of rugby and in doing so has developed a brilliant understanding of the league.


“James is a very important addition to what we are building at Sixways.”
