WORCESTER City manager Chris Cornes has signed a new two-year deal to remain with the club until the end of the 2026/27 season.
Cornes has guided City from Step Five to Step Three of non-league football after securing back-to-back promotions.
He took charge of Worcester in November 2022 and won the Hellenic League Premier Division title in 2023/24 before then achieving promotion from the Northern Premier League Midlands via the play-offs last season.
Cornes said: “I am absolutely delighted to be signing this contract at the club. I think it shows both the clubs and my intent to this project.
“Since my arrival alongside that of the owner it’s been an incredible spell so far and we both want that to continue.
“I want to thank everyone who has played a part in this journey in the last two and a half years and now it’s time to get started on the next two years and see what that brings.”
City owner, Simon Lancaster added: “Chris and I have worked really well together in the couple of years that we have both been here, with our vision closely aligned of getting from where we were two years ago to where we want to be.
“The achievements of the team under the stewardship of Chris have been truly unbelievable, with five trophies and back-to-back promotions.
“Our exciting journey continues as we move to Sixways and look to battle it out in Step Three.
“With this in mind and with lots of conversations with players underway, we felt it right to show our commitment to Chris with this contract and we are extremely happy that he agreed it.”
