KING’S School Worcester is celebrating after two of its hockey teams became the first in the school’s history to reach national finals.
The school’s under-13 A team qualified for the finals of the Independent School Hockey Cup (ISHC).
The under-13s delivered a flawless performance at the Midlands In2hockey regional finals to become champions and qualify for the national finals which take place in May.
The team scored 19 goals, conceding none, en route to winning the competition.
Since September, the under-13s have lost just one of their 11 games and claimed the county title after beating both RGS Worcester and Bromsgrove School along the way.
And the school’s under-14s became the first time in Kings’ history to reach the Schools Championship final.
That came after the under-14s won the England Hockey Tier One Plate national finals.
Director of sport at King’s Worcester, Lora Miller‑Symonds said: “These achievements across the age groups reflect a fantastic period for the school’s hockey programme, with players at every level demonstrating skill and determination against some of the country’s top teams.
“We are incredibly proud of all our young hockey players’ commitment, which has made this season one to remember for King’s.”
