WORCESTER City surrendered an early two-goal lead in a thrilling 3-3 draw away at Coleshill Town.

City fell behind to Shaq Leachman-Whittingham’s third-minute goal before Zac Guinan equalised four minutes later at Pack Meadow.

And Elliott Hartley completed the turnaround before debutant Sopuruchukwu Obieri put Worcester in command at the break.

However, Ben Usher-Shipway reduced the deficit before Taylor Carter-Byrne struck two minutes from time to leave City stunned.

The result means Worcester sit fourth in the Northern Premier League Midlands table.

Worcester made the worst possible start as Leachman-Whittingham forced a shot past debutant City goalkeeper Dan Moore after a long throw was flicked on to the back post.

However, the visitors drew level on seven minutes when Guinan turned home a cross from the right from close range.

City turned the game on its head on 17 minutes as Obieri beat two defenders down the right before squaring for Hartley who slid in to finish from inside the six-yard box.

And the visitors stretched their lead on 35 minutes when Obieri dispossessed a Coleshill defender and produced a clinical finish into the right corner of the goal.

However, the home side cut the deficit on 52 minutes as Usher-Shipway fired a shot past Moore from 15-yards out.

And Coleshill equalised on 88 minutes when Carter-Byrne headed in Usher-Shipway’s cross from the left from six-yards out.

Worcester are next in action against Darlaston Town on Tuesday, February 25 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Claines Lane.
