HEART of Worcestershire (HoW) College is launching a new women’s football academy which will open in September 2025.

The college will hold trials next month for young women and men looking to combine their passion for football with an educational pathway.

The trials are aimed at year 11 students and take place on Monday, February 17 from 10am to 12pm at Perdiswell Leisure Centre in Worcester.

Attendees must bring boots, a drink, shinpads and suitable clothing with no trainers allowed.

The HoW football academy programme includes training three times a week and Wednesday games in the AOC College League.

There is also the opportunity to study for a BTEC Level 2 or Level 3 in sport.

Players will work with UEFA B qualified coaches and have access to performance analysis, strength and conditioning and fitness testing.

Sport and learning development officer at HoW College, Matt Clements said: “Unlike many other football education programmes, our academy allows students to continue playing for their current clubs while also participating in training and AOC competitive matches with us.

“We’re so excited to be launching our dedicated women’s football academy later this year, and look forward to welcoming young men and women along to the trials in a few weeks’ time.”

Anyone interested in attending the football trials should register their interest by emailing: [email protected]
