WORCESTERSHIRE Rapids’ T20 player of the year, Ethan Brookes, has returned to Australia to play grade cricket for Adelaide University CC during the second half of the winter.
Brookes is playing in the South Australian Cricket Association Premier Cricket competition until March 14.
He will then fly back to New Road to continue his preparations for the 2025 season.
Brookes enjoyed a successful winter last year playing for Victorian Premier Cricket side Prahran CC, hitting three centuries, including 146 off 71 balls in a T20 game against Footscray CC.
He capped his first season at Worcestershire by finishing as top scorer in the T20 Blast and picked up important late order wickets in a new death bowler role.
Brookes also played an important part as Worcestershire reached the quarter-finals of the One-Day Cup and scored his maiden County Championship century against Hampshire at the Utilita Bowl.
He needs to produce an explosive performance if Adelaide are to turn around the two-day fixture with West Torrens on the second day.
Brookes will resume on 24 not out from 71 balls with Adelaide 102-8 in pursuit of a total of 169 all out in 47 overs.
