JOE Leach starred on his return to the Worcestershire side as the Pears claimed a vital County Championship win against bottom club Kent.
Leach took 6-52 with the ball as Worcestershire bowled Kent out for 171 in their first innings before posting 447 in reply to take a significant lead at New Road.
And after Kent could only manage 376 all out in their second innings the Pears eased to the required total for the loss of just two wickets to claim an eight-wicket success.
The result means Worcestershire sit 45 points clear of Kent in the County Championship standings with just four matches left to play.
Worcestershire continue their County Championship campaign against Essex on Thursday, August 29 at the County Ground in Chelmsford.
