WORCESTER City surrendered an early lead in a last gasp 2-1 defeat to Dudley Town to exit the FA Cup at the Preliminary Round stage.

Despite Zac Guinan putting City ahead early on, Brad Mansell drew Dudley level before Abdul Bashiru won the game for the visitors in injury time at Claines Lane.

City started the brighter of the two teams as Adam Mace saw his venomous effort blocked before the Dudley goalkeeper tipped Kyle Belmonte’s outside of the foot shot over the bar.

From the resulting corner, Worcester deservedly took the lead on 11 minutes when Guinan volleyed home Liam Lockett’s corner from the left.

Midland Football League Premier Division side Dudley improved after the break and equalised on 61 minutes when Mansell sent a superb volley into the right corner of the goal from just inside the penalty area.

And Dudley stunned Worcester in injury time when the ball broke kindly to Bashiru in the box and his low effort took a slight deflection on its way into the net.

Worcester are next in action against Racing Club Warwick on Tuesday, August 20 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Claines Lane.
