REVD Andy Todd has been appointed as the new Diocesan Secretary for the Diocese of Worcester.
As Diocesan Secretary, Andy will act as the CEO of the Worcester Diocesan Board of Finance Ltd (WDBF) and will work closely with the Bishop of Worcester and the chair of the WDBF to lead the mission and ministry of the Diocese in Worcestershire and Dudley as well as ensure its financial stability.
Andy will lead the WDBF staff team and will also play a key role in our diocesan vision to grow as Kingdom People, helping to implement our four diocesan priorities.
He is currently Vicar of St Stephen’s Church in Worcester and is also the current chair of the Board of Finance.
Before training for ordination, Andy was a corporate tax adviser at Deloitte, with responsibility for building a team providing tax consultancy to a number of high-profile, household-name clients, and was previously director of tax for Aviva’s life insurance business.
Andy said: “Right at the heart of my vocation as a priest has been to walk alongside individuals, families and communities through the ‘liminal’ times of great change – the good and the bad, the challenging and the uplifting – and to seek God’s grace in those times.
“There is a clear parallel with the role of Diocesan Secretary, supporting our churches through times which are extremely challenging, but also full of new possibility.”
Andy currently lives in Worcester with his wife and two teenage children.
He plays guitar with more enthusiasm than skill in a band called Bongo Monkey’s Mid-Life Crisis.
He will begin as Diocesan Secretary in September and will stand down as chair of the DBF in order to take on this role.
