Aspie FC looking for sponsors after double triumph

Worcester Editorial 24th Jun, 2022   0

ASPIE Football Club recently completed a double after winning the Sandwell Inclusion League Premier Play-Offs following their triumph in the Three Counties Ability Counts League.

The play-offs took place at Portway Lifestyle Centre as Aspie saw off competition from Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion and Redditch United amongst others to come out on top.

Aspie, who are based at Vesta Tilley House, overcame the backlash of the Covid-19 pandemic to storm to two titles and build on their success from the 2018 season.

Manager and Welfare Officer Sam Watkins said: “The team were outstanding and defended brilliantly whilst playing fast, passing, football.

“It is an absolute pleasure to be coaching these players.”

The club, who provide inclusive football, are looking for sponsors ahead of next season and mentor young males and females aged 16 and above with autism and various other disabilities.

Aspie currently have more than 18 players who turn up to weekly sessions with some taking part in a competitive nature and other working to improve their physical and mental health.
