Peatbog Faeries blaze trail to hall

Worcester Editorial 15th Oct, 2018   0

SCOTTISH trailblazers Peatbog Faeries return to Huntingdon Hall with their latest show packed with their well-known mixture of traditional sounds and dance-floor grooves which have been embraced worldwide

Peatbog Faeries celebrated their 25th anniversary in 2016 on the back of the critically acclaimed album Blackhouse while 2017 saw the release of their new live album Live@25.

Hailing from the Isle of Skye, the band draw upon an array of influences from jigs and reels through dance music, jazz, African, and more.

The band is fronted by Peter Morrison on pipes and whistles, which interplay with the fiddle sounds from Ross Couper. Tom Salter on guitar performs everything from subtle licks and chord patterns to solos.

And Graeme Stafford’s keyboards provide the link to the backline machine of Innes Hutton on pounding bass and Stuart Haikney on drums, holding it all together.

Peatbog Faeries have become firm favourites at festivals and venues across the UK and have toured the world with their inventive and unique brand of music.

They will take to the stage at Huntingdon Hall next Wednesday (October 24) from 7.30pm

Tickets are £18.50 and available through the Worcester Live Box Office on 01905 611427.
