Warriors' head of rugby recruitment McGinity departs club

Worcester Editorial 5th Jul, 2017   0

WARRIORS’ head of rugby recruitment Jan McGinity has left the club with immediate effect.

McGinity, who spent four years at Worcester and one season in the role, played a key part in helping the Sixways side recruit players such as Ben Te’o, Francois Hougaard, Donncha O’Callaghan and Nick Schonert.

“I wish Warriors much success in the coming seasons and leave knowing that, with the emerging young English talent coming through the academy, the club’s future prospects are far greater than when I arrived,” said McGinity.

“It’s been a fantastic experience working at Warriors through such a transitional time at the club.

“With the establishment of the junior academy centres, the upgrading of the playing facility and the creation of a global scouting network, many positive steps have been put in place to ensure a successful future for Worcester.

“I would like to thank the staff and, in particular, chairman Bill Bolsover for the support I’ve received in the role. I hope the club, under director of rugby Gary Gold, will continue to make positive strides in the coming season.”

Bolsover said: “Everyone at the club would like to thank Jan for his efforts, especially in helping Warriors establish a strong English-qualified player squad and structure for the years ahead. We wish him every success in the future.”
