All Bard’s greats in one new play

Worcester Editorial 16th May, 2017   0

AN OUTRAGEOUSLY hilarious play which pits together all The Bard’s greatest characters under one roof will be performed at Worcester’s Swan Theatre on Thursday (May 18).

Reed Martin and Austin Tichenor’s Reduced Shakespeare Company production of William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (abridged), will see acclaimed stars of the West End stage deliver a completely irreverent and breathtakingly hysterical celebration of our cultural heritage.

In a better-late-than-never nod to Will’s 400th anniversary, the bad boys of abridgement present a play that features all of The Bard’s greatest characters and plots in a single work of dramatic genius – that he later decided to turn into 37 separate plays!

As seen through the eyes of three Americans wearing trainers, the play embarks on its debut UK tour following world premiere seasons at the renowned Folger Shakespeare Library and the Edinburgh Fringe.

The humorous production has received top reviews, with the Edinburgh Guide hailing it ‘hilarious, outrageous fun’ and ‘a romp of epic proportions’, whilst The Stage labelled it as being ‘top-notch comic deconstruction of Shakespeare’.

The event starts at 7.30pm and costs £18.50 for adults and £16.50 for concessions.
