Warriors CEO urges supporters to become 16th man

CHIEF executive Jim O’Toole is calling on supporters to pack out Sixways and become Warriors’ ‘16th man’ ahead of pivotal Premiership matches.

The former London Irish commercial director hopes to see fans turn out in their droves to ensure the club remains in rugby’s top tier.

“We’re now entering a really exciting phase of the season. There’s no doubt the first half of the campaign has been tough, but with the arrival of Gary Gold and the return of big players like Francois Hougaard and Bryce Heem, this is the time to improve our league position,” said O’Toole.

“Off the field, our commercial department has been working as hard as ever to deliver its side of the equation and after some very open conversations with our supporters over the last couple of months, we’ve taken the steps they’ve been keen for us to take.

“I think it’s now time for us to all get together.

“The fans need to get behind the team and give as much support as possible. There’s a cliché about the crowd being the 16th man, but if you talk to players they’ll tell you that when they hear that noise of support it really does make a difference.

“It gives them that extra bounce in their step, so I just really want to call on people to come to Sixways over these upcoming crucial Premiership matches.

“We need to get the place jumping and the atmosphere buzzing, so get behind us,” he added.
