PROLIFIC centre forward Lee Hughes has left Worcester City just days after declaring his interest in the vacant manager’s job.
The 40-year-old revealed his interest in the position earlier this week but has now been released with a view to signing for another club.
AFC Telford United, who currently sit one place below City the National League North, have expressed in signing the former Albion and Kidderminster Harriers hitman.
Another unknown Midlands club is also in the running for the signature of the forward who has bagged 14 goals for City this season.
In a short statement the club said: “We would like to thank Lee for all of his efforts whilst in a City shirt and we wish him all the best for the future.”
