YOUNGSTERS at a Worcester primary school were treated to a visit from one of the city’s Community Support Officers (PCSO), as part of a ‘Crime and Punishment’ themed event.
PCSO Di Smith met Year 4 pupils from Red Hill CE Primary School on Wednesday (February 3), to teach them about policing in Worcester.
The classroom was turned into a forensic lab and incident room, where the children employed specialist detective skills in order to become fully fledged crime scene detectives.
Year 4 teacher, Charlotte Foy said: “The pupils learned about fingerprint developing, identification, compufit facial reconstruction, analysing witness statements and chromatography.”
The school will continue its theme on crime and punishment on Friday, March 11, when a representative from GCHQ will visit to teach children how spy wear has evolved through the ages.
