Worcester Editorial 12th Aug, 2015 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

A TRIPLE threat performer will be telling one of his most famous tales at the Swan Theatre.

David Wood’s Storytime will see the actor, author and playwright return to the stage where he started his career in 1967 with his classic story of The Gingerbread Man on Saturday, August 29 at 11am.

The show has been featured in theatre worldwide from Birmingham to Beijing and has completed nine London sessions.

The storytime version promises to be filled with magic, music and audience participation and with David Wood’s ability to captivate children, it will be brilliant entertainment for the whole family.

This one off performance will mark 50 years since his first appearance on the Worcester stage in The Oxford Line.

He has spent 40 years writing for children and his stage adaptations of Roald Dahl’s The BFG, Fantastic Mr Fox and James and the Giant Peach have been nothing short of successes. His interpretation of Michelle Magorian’s Classic Goodnight Mister Tom won the 2013 Oliver Award for Best Entertainment and Family.

Tickets cost £7 for adults, £5 for children and family of four can see the performance for £10.

These are available from Hutingdon Hall box office, by calling 01905 611427 or by visiting www.theswantheatre.co.uk.
