Worcester Editorial 20th May, 2015 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

WORCESTER City legend Bill Jackman has died at the age of 91.

Jackman, whose grandson Danny Jackman is part of the current crop, originally appeared for the Blue & Whites as a guest player in the 1945/46 season and also guested for Swindon Town before being signed by City manager Jack Vinall.

Playing mainly as a right winger, he went on to bag 21 goals in his first season and established himself as a first team regular. He racked up 134 first team appearances and scored 43 times.

He was associated with Worcester as a player, trainer, assistant manager and caretaker manager for more than a quarter of a century.

A Worcester City spokesman said: “Bill gave the club great service and was always remembered fondly by those who knew him.

“We would like to extend our sympathies to all his family and friends.”
