Injured Symons set for six months on sidelines

TALENTED centre Andy Symons looks set to face six months on the side-lines after it emerged he had suffered knee ligament damage.

The 24-year-old picked up the injury in the lead up to Warriors’ semi-final second leg against London Scottish earlier this month.

It was hoped the centre, who has been Worcester’s main kicker since the turn of the

year, would be back in time to face Bristol in the Greene King IPA Championship final.

But director of rugby Dean Ryan confirmed Symons had ruptured his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) which would rule him out for between five to six months.

The former Leicester Tigers academy graduate, who joined Warriors in 2013, has made 22 appearances this season, scoring 125 points.
