City welcome bottom-placed Hyde to Aggborough

WORCESTER City will be looking to bag themselves three points in their quest for a top-ten finish when they welcome already-relegated Hyde FC to Aggborough tomorrow (Saturday).

Without a win in five, the Blue and Whites host the bottom-placed Tigers looking to put an end to an inconsistent run of form which ended any outside play-off hopes.

Three straight defeats to AFC Fylde, Barrow and Boston were followed up with 1-1 draws against Lowestoft Town and Brackley respectively as Carl Heeley’s men climbed to ninth in the Conference North.

Keeper Nathan Vaughan looks likely to remain in goal for the clash as his three-game ban for the sending off against Lowestoft doesn’t start until next Saturday.

Long-term absentees Connor Gater and Danny Jackman still look likely to miss the cut but academy prodigy Joao Sousa will be pushing for his third successive start.

Meanwhile Hyde, who have languished at the foot of the table for much of the season, have not picked up a single win away from home all campaign and have only amassed four points away from Ewen Fields.

Gary Lowe’s side have only managed three wins all season, with just one success in their last 19 in all competitions, and were relegated from the sixth tier of English football on March 21 following a 1-1 draw at AFC Fylde.

The demotion means the Greater Manchester outfit, who have shipped 94 goals, have now suffered back-to-back relegations after an unsuccessful stint in the Conference Premier, where they won only once.

City came away from Ewan Fields with a 3-0 victory in December the last time the two sides met.
