New Warriors signings excite Ryan

WARRIORS director of rugby Dean Ryan believes the new signings revealed in recent weeks have ‘changed the dynamics’ at the club.

Sam Lewis and Cooper Vuna have already arrived at Sixways, while Sam Baldwin, Andy Short, Tom Heathcote and Phil Dowson will join the club in the summer.

And following this week’s capture of powerful loose-head prop Na’ama Leleimalefaga, Ryan insisted more new names were still in the pipeline.

“We are talking to people all the time,” he said. “There have been signings we have concluded and just haven’t told you about and there are people which we think can add to this business.

“Around the cusp of the new year we had some difficulties, but suddenly we have got three or four signings which I think have changed the dynamics of what this place would look like in the future and I am really excited about that.

“There are a couple of people we have signed who I am really pleased with,” Ryan added.

“It is hard work to sell something which is about the future.

“But I think we have done a really good job as a business to change how we are being perceived and that is what people are buying into.

“This place is now seen as something which is travelling forward and people want to be part of that.”
