MORE than 20 Worcester League teams have cancelled their fixtures this weekend to follow City to the Ricoh Arena.
The Blue and Whites travel to Coventry City this Sunday (November 9) after making it to the FA Cup first round for the first time in nine years.
A bumper crowd of Worcester fans are expected to follow their team to the home of the 1987 winners, and budding football stars have jumped on the bandwagon to make the short trip to the other side of the Midlands.
A total of 24 teams from the Worcester & District Football league have called their games off for the day.
Tim Phillips, secretary of the league, said: “This is a big occasion for the whole City and many of the clubs want to be at the game.
“After the draw against Coventry there has been a lot of interest from teams wanting to go to the match so we gave them the opportunity to close Sunday.”
The sides to cancel their games are, AFC Brickfields, AFC Claines, AFC Kempsey, Alumni FC, Brewers Athletic FC, Drakes Broughton Rangers FC, Droitwich Spa Eagles FC, Eaton Rovers FC, Falcons FC, FC Five Fathers, Hallow FC, Hallow Village FC, Hornets FC, Malvern Rangers, Oldbury Park Tigers FC, St Johns FC, St Peters FC, VBL Sports FC, Virgin Athletic FC, WCT Raiders FC, WCT Youth Raiders FC, Westside FC, Worcester Raiders FC and Worcester Rileys FC.
The game kicks off at 2pm.
