WORCESTER City will be looking to secure all three points tomorrow (Saturday) when they welcome relegation-threatened Histon to Aggborough in the Skrill Conference North.
Carl Heeley’s men face their third game in six days and will be looking to improve on their first draw since Boxing Day, after the 0-0 stalemate with Stockport County on Tuesday (March 25).
In a week labelled ‘season defining’ by The Blue and Whites manager, City have beaten Vauxhall Motors and taken a point off the Hatters, extending their lead over the drop zone to 12 points.
Leigh Bedwell is likely to keep his place in goal for the hosts, after two consecutive clean sheets, despite the return to training of Jose Veiga, with Heeley admitting the Swindon loanee ‘has got the shirt and it’s his to lose’.
Ethan Moore and Martin Devaney were brought into the starting XI for the midweek draw and will both be looking to keep their place for the visit of The Stutes.
The Cambridgeshire outfit have slipped into the final relegation place after an awful run of form has seen them without a league win since January 4, meaning they have gone 14 games without success, losing 11.
Ahead of the game Heeley said: “We will come again Saturday and have a look at the lads, get our heads together and see who we think will be selected to give us the best opportunity to win the game.
“It’s an opportunity, and if we play anything like we can I expect us to win the game.
“That said, Histon pass the ball really, really well but physically we’ve got to have the upper hand there and we’ve got to make them struggle to deal with us.”
