WORCESTER City play their second match in 48 hours when they welcome former football league side Stockport County to Aggborough tonight (Tuesday).
Carl Heeley’s men kicked off a pivotal week in their Skrill Conference North campaign by beating Vauxhall Motors 2-0 on Sunday (March 23) and will be looking to follow that up with a ninth win in 13 league games, against The Hatters.
Leigh Bedwell, who made his debut in the 2-0 success after joining on-loan from Swindon Town, is set to keep his place in goal with both Ryan Boot and Jose Veiga still missing through injury.
County find themselves just a point and a place above the Blue and Whites and with no wins in eight, including five defeats, they will be looking to 17-goal hitman Phil Jevons to fire them to victory.
However, the visitors will be buoyed by the last meeting between the two sides, which ended in a 4-0 romping for Stockport back in October.
Manager Heeley said: “Stockport gave us a good doing over there and I thought that performance on the day was the best we came across all season, I thought Stockport were unbelievable on the day.
“It’s just trying to pick up another three points this evening and get our points tally moving on so we’re looking to back up Sunday’s win.
“It’s a 48 hour turn-around and we’re back playing again but when you’re going well you want to keep playing so we’re all looking forward to it and hopefully we can get another positive result.”
