WORCESTER City will look to bounce back from back-to-back defeats when they host relegation-threatened Stalybridge Celtic at Aggborough on Saturday (March 1).
Carl Heeley’s men have fallen at the hands of AFC Telford United and Gainsborough Trinity in their last two encounters, but will be looking to recapture the form that saw them win five out of six after the turn of the year.
Experienced defender Wayne Thomas has boosted the rearguard at City after joining the club on a deal until the end of the season. The centre back joins from neighbours Tamworth and lists spells at Stoke City, Southampton and Burnley among his 500 league game career.
The news will also come as a boost as fellow defender Richard Munday missed last weekends defeat at the Trinity, with long-term absentee Shab Khan also on the sidelines.
Stalybridge will be looking to close the gap on their Skrill Conference North rivals to just one point with victory at Aggborough, but with no victories in their last ten league outings and just one in their last fifteen, Keith Brigss’ men find themselves fighting for their survival at the bottom.
