WORCESTER City will be looking to bounce back from their midweek defeat to AFC Telford when they travel to Gainsborough Trinity on Saturday (February 22) in the Skrill Conference North.
Carl Heeley’s men make the trip to Lincolnshire one place and one point ahead of their opponents and will be looking to extend the nine point gap between themselves and the relegation zone.
Trinity come into the game having won just two of their last eight games, conceding 23 goals in the process, and stretch back to January 18 to their last win on home soil, a 3-0 success over Workington.
Richard Munday damaged his hand during Tuesday’s defeat but is expected to be back, with long-term absentee Shab Khan the only likely man to miss out. Recent signing Aaron Farrell will also be pushing for a start.
The sides last met back in September when an injury time Ethan Moore penalty snatched a 2-2 draw for the Blue and Whites.
Speaking after the Telford game, manager Heeley said: “Whether you’re playing teams like Telford or the teams around you, if you show the application we did, particularly in the second half, then you will get the results.
“Maybe a little bit of composure when it mattered would have got us something this evening but it wasn’t to be and we move on to Saturday and it’s our next opportunity to go and get some points.”
