AFTER 15 years of ups and downs the general consensus of my fellow band of supporters is – and this is being fair – Warriors’ defeat to Exeter Chiefs ranks in the top five of the worst performances we have ever had the embarrassment to witness.
Exeter did qualify for the semi-finals of the LV=Cup, but they secured that place with a win over a team which was, at best, going through the motions.
Defeat hurts, but a lack of commitment and thought to paying punters who turned out in those conditions to support the team hurts even more.
The biggest regret I have is that due to the season ticket offer I know new folks who turned up for the day. They were the kind of people we want to come back to support the team and help grow the club.
Unfortunately that performance has had the reverse effect with people telling me today it will take a lot to get them to pay to get them back through the doors.
Some people may think that I am crazy but I still have hope. Like so many I have bought into the five-year plan and instead of looking back I am looking forward with that word ‘hope’.
